The primary purpose of the Fellowship is to 'provide active support' to Sections within 1st Burnmoor Scout Group to enable the Leaders of the respective Sections to be able to concentrate their efforts on the children.

This could involve providing transport to and from events, helping to organise activities and doing the 'behind the scenes' work at camps - collecting firewood, setting up an aerial runway, cooking etc. The Fellowship is NOT a replacement or support service for the Parents' Committee.

People in the Fellowship are members of the Scout Association and are therefore eligible to take part in Scouting events and are covered by Scout Association insurance. There is no commitment for members to turn up on particular days or a requirement to do a set amount of hours work each year. It is up to individual members to decide when and how they can help.

There is no need to have been involved in Scouting in the past, all that is required is a willingness to give some of your time to Scouting. The Fellowship also has a social side and members are able to use Scouting resources for Fellowship activities and events. As an added incentive, members of the Fellowship receive a badge!
