Census 2020

Each year the Scouts carry out a national census to collect information on membership numbers, we're very pleased to announce 1st Burnmoor has grown by 19% in 2019.

2020 is already shaping up to be a fantastic year as all our sections are filling up quickly including our new Beaver colony.

Thank you and well done to everyone involved.

A huge thank you to all the Co-op members who have selected us as your chosen charity, so far it's raised nearly £800 for the group.

All members should receive a sponsorship form this week. The Beavers, Cubs and Scouts are all coming together on the 1st of April at Penshaw Monument to take part in a "singathon".

Please encourage your young person to collect as much as possible in sponsorship donations. Money can be collected in cash or paid direct to our Local Giving fundraising page

This event is part of our group fundraising project to modernise and extend our building.  The extension is required in order to create much needed “access for all”, with ramp access and disabled toilet facilities.

Whit Camp

The Scout section will be off to Whit Camp 22-25th of May for I'm a Scout Get me Out of Here!!! Details will creep into your inbox soon.

Hall hire

Our Scout hall is available for hire to other Scout groups, businesses and individuals, all money raised supports the group and helps us provide young people with amazing Scouting.

Chief scout award

The chief scout award is the highest award in Beavers, Cubs and Scouts. Our leaders work hard to put programmes together to give our young people the opportunity to earn these awards. To ensure they do attendance is key, if young people regularly miss meetings or don't attend camps and nights away they'll not cover all the requirements for these top awards.

The next county award ceremony will be in September for all members who earn the award.
