November 2024
Welcome to the 1st Burnmoor monthly blog where we will keep you up to date with group news and upcoming events.
Christmas is coming
As Christmas approaches we've got a full packed month of festive activities, including community events for the whole family.
Keep an eye on Parent Portal as meeting times and locations will differ over the next few weeks.
SANTA IN THE STREETS
We're delighted that once again Santa has reached out to 1st Burnmoor Scouts to help spread some Christmas cheer. Santa, his sleigh and the 1st Burnmoor elves will be in Lumley on the 16th and in Fence Houses and Burnmoor on the 20th.
Please help by spreading the word.
If you'd like to come along and help with the collection, please meet us at 6pm at the new co-op in Lumley on the Monday, and at 4:30 or 5:30 at the Scout hall on the Tuesday.
HALL AND GROUNDS WORKS
After ripping everything back to the brickwork, we've now got our new floor, roof, solar panels, windows and so much more. Everything is going according to plan and on track, we can't wait to see it finished in the new year.
Well done to everyone who was involved!
A huge thank you to Woodlea School for letting us use the school so we can continue Scouting while we have no access to our home, we'll be back at Woodlea in the new year while the works continue.
#Goodforyou
We've identified we need several new volunteers to help with section meetings, this may be helping run activities, preparing equipment or just making the juice.
If you think you can help please see 1stburnmoor.co.uk/join for more information.
