Our Scout Hall with its large main hall, meeting room, kitchen and 1.5-acre outdoor space is perfect for meetings, functions and sleepovers.

Facility Hire:

The following facilities are available to hire by Scout Groups, Non-Scouting Organisations and the public.

At least one supervising adult requires an induction before the session.

 

Hall

With a capacity of 200, seating for up to 100 and sleeping space for 40, our newly refurbished hall makes a perfect venue for meetings, training, and our underfloor heating makes it nice and toasty for group sleepovers. Bookings include the use of the hall and commercial kitchen.

Other activities and facilities can be booked separately.

Meeting Room

With a seating capacity of 12, our meeting room provides a warm, inviting space for meetings.

BBQ and Community Garden

Our BBQ and outdoor seating area is the perfect choice for group events and community get-togethers, large and small.

BBQ Den

With seating for up to 18 people, our BBQ Den offers a space like no other, perfect for meetings and community events.

Activity Bus

With bench seating for up to 20 people, the Scouting Bus is a great space for briefings, activities, and if you fancy something different for a night, with space for 6 campers the Scouting Bus is available for sleepovers.

Self-Led Activity Hire:

Please note: These activities are currently only open to Scout Association groups, and at least one adult taking part will need to have completed an induction beforehand.

Each session is booked in a 2-hour slot, giving you around 90 minutes of adventure time!

We’re lucky to have an amazing Activity Support Team at 1st Burnmoor, including Permit Holders who can help run sessions as volunteer instructors (depending on availability). Climbing Wall

Challenge yourself on our 6m climbing wall! Test your strength and balance as you tackle a range of routes across 5 top rope lines that can be used simultaneously. Equipment included. (Permit Holder required)

• Suitable for Squirrels, Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Explorers
• Area is fully lit so can be used into the evenings all year round

Bouldering Wall

Push your limits on our 10m wide boulder wall! Climb without ropes while developing strength, technique, and confidence. Ideal for building teamwork and problem-solving skills.

• Suitable for Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Explorers
• Area is fully lit so can be used into the evenings all year round

Tree Climbing

Scale our 8m high tree climbing course and conquer the heights! Test your bravery, strength, and coordination while enjoying a thrilling adventure. Equipment included. (Permit Holder required)

Crate Stacking

Challenge your balance and teamwork with crate stacking! Work together to build a tower of crates as high as you can without it toppling. Equipment included. (Permit Holder required)

Caving

Explore the underground at your own pace with our Caving adventure! Navigate tunnels and chambers while building teamwork and problem-solving skills. Helmets and torches provided.

Archery

Test your aim and focus with our archery session! Learn the skills to shoot with precision while improving concentration and teamwork. Equipment included. (Permit Holder required)

Shooting

Sharpen your focus and precision with our air rifle session! Learn safe handling and improve your accuracy in a controlled environment. Equipment included. (Range Officer required)

Tomahawks

Tomahawk throwing is a sport where participants throw a specially designed tomahawk at a target from a distance, trying to get it to stick into the wooden target. It's similar to darts and is often played in lumberjack competitions. Tomahawk throwing can help build hand-eye coordination.

Catapults

Test your aim with our fun and engaging catapult activity! Learn basic physics and coordination as you launch soft projectiles at targets. A safe and educational activity for younger sections. (Range Officer required)

Camp Fire

Enjoy a classic outdoor experience with our campfire, 1st Burnmoor's favourite pastime! Gather around the flames for storytelling, songs, and roasting marshmallows. A great way to create lasting memories.

Sleepovers

Enjoy exclusive use of our main hall, commercial kitchen, BBQ, large field, and campfire area – all yours for the duration of your stay. Whether you choose a cosy indoor sleepover or prefer to pitch tents outdoors, the space is yours to enjoy. Make the most of nearby walks and open outdoor areas, with the option to add extra activities to your booking for even more adventure.
