Welcome Back
We hope you have enjoyed a fantastic summer holiday, Scouts will be returning on the 12th of September followed by Beavers and Cubs on the 13th.
All programs will soon be updated on Parent Portal and across the website.
Car Parking
To prevent our neighbouring streets from becoming congested during the use of 1st Burnmoor Scout Hall and Grounds we have the following parking policy in place, please read it before travelling to the Scout hall:
Coast to coast
In June, 11 of our volunteers completed the Coast to Coast from Whitehaven to Roka to raise money for 1st Burnmoor. It was a challenging three-day cycle but together they all made it by supporting each other along the way.
In total £3680.50 was raised!!!
Well done to everyone who was involved!
Scarecrow trail
There is a Scarecrow trail around Burnmoor on 9th and 10th of September 2023. Bournmoor Scarecrow Trail | Facebook
This will be a great event for you and your family to take part in on either day. It starts at Burnmoor Cricket Club and Ends at our Scout Hall.
Summer Camp 2023
Our Scouts have had an amazing time at summer camp in the beautiful surroundings of the Lake District. Summer camp is the prime event in the Scouting calendar where Scouts really put their skills to the test.
Scouts enjoyed rock climbing, shooting, ghyll scrambling and so much more, but the best way to sum it up is from Summer Camp's best Scout herself:

pre-loved uniforms
We have started to hold donated uniforms that people can have for free, for swaps or for a donation to the group.
If you have a uniform you no longer need please consider donating it, it could benefit another family and it's good for the environment.
Please remove all badges (and keep them for your blanket).

We've identified we need several new volunteers to help with section meetings, this may be helping run activities, preparing equipment or just making the juice.

DATES FOR THE DIARY
Currently, we have the following camps and days out which will all be bookable via the Parent Portal:
- 6-8th of October 2023 - Confido for Scouts
- 20-22nd of October 2023 - JOTI
- 12th of November 2023 - Remembrance Sunday
- 3rd of February 2024 - County Awards day
- 24-27th of May 2024 - Whit Camp for Scouts
- 17-24th of August 2024 - Summer Camp for Scouts
As well as these events there'll also be sleepovers for all sections and other fantastic county events to look forward to.
