Welcome to the new 1st Burnmoor monthly blog where we will keep you up to date with group news and upcoming events.

Remembrance Sunday

On Remembrance Sunday (10th of November) we will be commemorating the contribution of British and Commonwealth military and civilian servicemen and women in the two World Wars and later conflicts.

We will meet at the Scout Hall at 10:15am then parade to the cenotaph in Fence Houses for the remembrance service. Family and friends are invited to follow the parade and join us at the cenotaph.

Members are required to be in full uniform including smart black/grey/dark blue trousers and clean black/brown shoes/boots.

Following the service we will parade to the Burnside Social Club where refreshments will be served in the function room for all members, family and friends.

The Big 90th Anniversary Tree Plant

We’ve been making huge changes to our grounds over the last few years and we’re ending the year of big changes by adding 195 trees creating new hedges and fantastic spaces.

Please join us on the 30th of November 10:00-13:00 and be apart of this fantastic project which will suck up 27 tons of CO2 by time we reach our 100th anniversary.

Take note of which trees you and your family plant and watch them grow over the years as our grounds develop and the group grows with them.

Our group have been growing from strength to strength in recent years and now we've made the decision to grow our Beaver colony from 24 to 36 members, we will achieve this by running the section in two half's. We've be able to make this happen with the help from 4 new adult volunteers who all started out with the 4 week challenge as apart of #BUILD, why not try the 4 week challenge yourself!

Thank You Npower

CO-OP Foundation

We have been selected to be one of the charities that the CO-OP Local Giving Foundation 1% donation goes to for the next 12 months. It is a massive opportunity for us to raise a significant amount of money. But we need your help......

Please can we ask you to pick 1st Burnmoor Scouts as your new local cause, if you're not already a member it's quite and easy to sign up. It will really help us to raise money for our Hall renovations.

Please could we also ask everyone you know, ask all your friends and family, colleagues and neighbours to choose us, it is important we get as many people as possible to choose us.
