Happy birthday 1st burnmoor

February marks 1st Burnmoor's 91st birthday ending our 90th anniversary celebrations, we've had a fantastic year with our Anniversary camp, party and badges galore, thank you to everyone involved in such a fantastic year for 1st Burnmoor.

There's still time to complete the 90 Challenge Award, click hear to find out more.

#BUILD Skills for Life

We're still looking for volunteers at 1st Burnmoor, if you have the time to help, if it be once a week, month or year we'd love to hear from you. Please Click Here for more info.

Beavers pick up, cub drop off

We now have so many members on a Wednesday we're making changes to the Beavers pick up and the Cubs drop off, this will going forward be through the back gate, adults can enter and wait on the hard standing and members will be let out of the rear door. Beavers drop off and Cubs pick up will continue to be at the front door, there is no change for Scouts or Explorers.

This change has been made due to safety concerns with so many cars congested in the street.

Please avoid parking outside of houses on Sydney Street, please park alongside the Scout grounds or alongside allotments on Sydney Street.

To help reduce the amount of cars please when possible walk to meetings or car share.

Grounds day

We'll be holding our first grounds day on Saturday the 22nd of February from 10am, we'll be tidying up, litter picking, gardening and much more with jobs for all ages. Please show your support by sparing a few hours to help as we make a start on the 2020 program of work.

2019 saw a huge transformation in the grounds at 1st Burnmoor, with the archery range, bush craft area, 1000 trees planted and so much more. 2020 will be program spectacular with plans for the climbing wall, tree climbing, crate stacking and much more.

Got free time another time? We have volunteers who help out within the grounds with various tasks including gardening, grass cutting and general maintenance, if you or someone you know who might be interested you can gain entry via a combination lock and work as you please, please contact This email address is being protected from spambots. CO-OP day

A huge thank you to all the members who helped promote our cause at the Penshaw Co-op last month, this makes a massive difference to our fundraising. We'll be holding another promo day soon and we'll be looking for volunteers.

Please can we ask you to pick 1st Burnmoor Scouts as your local cause, if you're not already a member it's quite easy to sign up. It will really help us to raise money for our Hall renovations.
